Lenovo Ships 3D IdeaPad Y560d
Lenovo has begun shipping its first 3D notebook, the IdeaPad Y560d. The notebook uses the TriDef 3D system, driven by ATI's Mobility Radeon HD 5730, rather than NVIDIA's popular 3D technology. A 15.6-inch display with 1366x768 resolution comes standard on all models.
The 1.60GHz quad Core i7 configuration is the first to arrive on the market, with 4GB of RAM and a standard 500GB HDD. The system is available directly from Lenovo and other retailers for $1500.
The company is expected to expand its customization options in the future, starting with Core i3 offerings and ranging up to a 1.86GHz quad Core i7. The notebook will also be available with a Blu-ray drive and Lenovo's hybrid storage system, the RapidDrive, which pairs a quick-booting 64GB SSD with a typical 750GB disk drive.
