Dell's Consumer unit was the only one to not post gains in Q2, but that was 'compensated' by the Large Enterprise, Public and Small and Medium Business groups who reported a revenue growth of 38%, 21% and 25%, respectively.

"We continue to strengthen our portfolio of data center solutions at an aggressive pace with the addition of key IP, talent and technology," said Dell CEO Michael Dell. "This quarter's results are a strong reflection of the progress we've made, and we remain very focused on delivering the best possible solutions and services to meet our customers' IT needs."

Dell expects Q3 to result in slightly higher sales thanks to seasonal improvements from federal government sales and commercial businesses.
