Intel will launch four entry-level Celeron processors including the Celeron ULV 877 and 807 for sale at US$86 and US$70 respectively and targeting ultrabooks in the third quarter of 2012. The CPUs could enable vendors to offer ultrabooks at a price level of US$699 in the third-quarter, and falling to US$599 at the end of the year or beginning of 2013, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
Following the release of Ivy Bridge quad-core processors for use in high-end desktops and notebooks in late April, Intel will unveil a second wave of processors on June 3, the sources indicated. The Ivy Bridge processors include Core i5-3570, Core i5-3470, Core i5-3570S, Core i5-3475S quad-core desktop processors at sales prices of US$184-205, Core i5-3470T dual-core desktop processor at US$184, Core i7-3520M, Core i5-3360M and Core i5-3320M notebook processors at US$346, US$266 and US$225, respectively, Core i7-3367M and Core i5-3427M ultrabook processors at US$346 and US$225 respectively, the sources said.
Intel will unveil five Core i3 dual-core processors for sale at US$117-138 in the third quarter of 2012, the sources noted.
