Samsung presents TV of the future
Samsung SDI Corporation (division of Samsung Corporation) has presented at CES 2008 exhibition the prototype of 31-inch OLED-TV. Company specializes on development and manufacture of flat panel displays.
The novelty possesses exclusively high contrast (1000000:1) having a thickness less than 2 sm. Device is capable to reproduce 107 % of a color range under NTSC standard and it is much more light (on 40 %), than existing models of TVs with such size of the screen. Its brightness makes 550 кd/м2. According to Samsung SDI declaration, commercial manufacture of OLED TVs with average and greater screens will begin not earlier, than in 2010 year.
