Asustek will recruit new talent in both Taiwan and China and will focus on hiring marketing staff and R&D technicians and target mainly college graduates.
Asustek noted that it hired about 500 employees in 2014 and has cooperated with universities and colleges in Taiwan and China since early March to conduct recruitment events.
With wearable devices and IoT-related applications not yet taken off, and PCs and tablets still seeing difficulties to attract demand, Asustek is expected to mainly focus on turning its smartphone business profitable in 2015, but such a task will be a difficult challenge, some market watchers noted.
