Samsung has unveiled yet another 10-inch netbook от March 23, following the unveiling of the NC310. This time, Samsung is looking to build upon the success of its best-selling NC10, by announcing its third 10-inch netbook called the Samsung N110. The N110 has improved on its predecessor in a number of areas including an expanded touchpad and a higher capacity 6-cell 5900 mAh battery (versus 5200 mAh in the NC10) that should give over seven hours of battery life. The design is also slightly different with a glossy lid with red border.

Apart from that, the rest of the specifications remain the same as far as we can tell. The N110 is powered by a 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU and 1GB RAM. It also has a 160GB (5,400 rpm) hard-disk drive. It also comes with Wifi (b/g), Bluetooth and Windows XP Home SP3.

Laptop Mag has already reviewed the N110 and found that the improvements made over the NC10 have made one of the best 10-inch netbooks on the market even better. They believe that Samsung has created a “near-perfect netbook in its N110”, that continues to outperform the competition. Whilst other models may be cheaper, it believes that Samsung’s premium price tag is worth it for those who demand longer battery lives.

Key points from review:

The N110 comes with a black glossy coating, that whilst looks sleeker, is a magnet for fingerprints. The burgundy trim along the edges gives it a more professional look.
The matte display of the NC10 has been replaced with a glossy, 10.2-inch, 1024 x 600-pixel screen on the N110. Glare didn’t seem to be a problem.
The N110 is the same weight and size as the NC10. It measures 10.3 x 7.3 x 1.2 inches and weighs 2.8 pounds (1.3kg), even with the higher-capacity six-cell battery.
Samsung left the keyboard on the N110 untouched. The 93 percent of full-size layout is comfortable, and the raised keys provided nice tactile feedback.
Larger touchpad. The touchpad size has increased to 2.5 x 1.3 inches versus 2.3 x 1.1 inches found on the NC10. The mouse button is slightly more raised than on the original. The single rocker bar remains and lacks a divot to separate the left and right sides.
