New Xerox DocuMate 162 Desktop Document Scanner Boosts Productivity
The DocuMate 162 scanner can capture, organize and repurpose paper documents for almost any application.
The Xerox DocuMate 162 colour document scanner scans up to 50 images per minute (ipm) in duplex mode and includes a 50-page automatic document feeder that can handle everything from business cards to A4 documents. It includes Visioneer OneTouch technology with advanced TWAIN and certified ISIS drivers that will enable communication with hundreds of enterprise content management (ECM) and document image management (DIM) software solutions.
Peter Trapmore, EMEA Sales Director says “The DocuMate 162 includes scanning technology which can help to improve real-life situations such as capturing a multi-page contract in a searchable PDF format so that the document can be searched by content; scanning receipts that are hardly legible; scanning coloured multi-part shipping forms that are smudged and difficult to read and then electronically filing them with transit records. The Xerox DocuMate 162 combines speed and high functionality with ease of use and affordability so that the scanner adapts to the customer’s document and capture needs, not the other way round.”
With a small footprint that can fit onto a desktop, the DocuMate 162 can quickly convert paper documents into searchable PDF files that readily shared, organized and protected. Kofax® VRS™ technology enhances imperfect originals, straightens and automatically crops them with the touch of a button.
“Anyone who has a filing cabinet will immediately discover the benefit of making a small investment in a desktop scanner,” Peter Trapmore said. “The time saved alone in filing, searching and retrieving paper will pay back the customer investment in only a few months, making it virtually a no-risk purchase.”
OneTouch technology allows users to scan to the ‘destination’ of their choice by pressing a single button, eliminating multiple steps in sending scanned documents to predetermined applications or devices. Scanner buttons come pre-programmed to scan, e-mail or copy in searchable PDF file format but the user can customise them to scan-to-print, scan-to-archive, scan-to-network, and scan-to-OCR.
The DocuMate 162 includes an impressive software package consisting Visioneer OneTouch with Kofax VRS technology, Nuance PaperPort®, OmniPage® Pro OCR and TWAIN, certified ISIS and WIA drivers.
