Toshiba announced year results
The annual press-conference of Toshiba Europe’s PC unit took place on February 15th in Moscow. The President of Toshiba Europe GmbH, Mr. Noriaki Hashimoto, opened the press-conference and highlighted the special importance of Russian market to the company. “Russia is becoming more and more important market on the world stage. We take into account country’s big population, stable economic growth and also a rousing interest to portable PCs, that’s why we intend to enhance our position in Russia, using marketing as well as investment resources”. Vice President of the company Toshiba Europe GmbH Peter Paul Ex emphasized in his speech on the sweeping sales growth in the region EEMEA. “The sales in that region tripled during the previous year. I’m especially proud of the results, achieved by the company Toshiba on the Russian market,” he stressed.
In 2007 the sales of Toshiba laptops in Russia increased by 50,6%. The company presented on the Russian market the balanced product portfolio, improved its interaction with the distributors, and launched the certification and partners support program. Much attention was paid to the service development – some new service centers and its own Information Centre for clients support were opened. “It may be said without exaggeration that 2007 is a year of high-grade development. We’ve done a lot for the structured work on the market and we’re ready for a new stage of qualitative growth. We’re absolutely sure that in 2008 the company Toshiba will be able to win 15% of the Russian laptop market,” says Igor Snitko.
