However, iSuppli provides a few more numbers, which indicate that HP remained the largest PC vendor and continued to outgrow Dell. Acer is closing the gap to Dell and Dell is now in danger of slipping to the third spot in the U.S. PC vendor raking.

According to iSuppli, HP grew its shipments by 13.5% year over year to 14.9 million units, translating into an 18.3% market share. Dell is second with 11.0 million units (+10.7%) and a 13.9% share, followed by Acer with 9.7 million PCs (+78.8%) and a 12.2% share.
