Xerox Expands Range of Printing Materials for Solvent and Eco-Solvent Ink Printing

Xerox has announced launching a wide range of rolled paper and special media for solvent and eco-solvent ink printing. The new line of products is designed for use with recently announced eco-solvent printers Xerox 8254E and 8264E, as well as printing equipment of others producers, like Mimaki, Mutoh, Vutek, Seiko, HP and others.

Solvent and eco-solvent inks are usually used for printing images which are highly resistant to external conditions. New materials used with Xerox 8254E and 8264E are designed for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications, such as: indoor and outdoor posters, signs, and banners; presentation graphics; point-of-purchase displays; trade show/conference exhibits; vehicle graphics; floor graphics; back-lit displays. The inks for the wide-format printers are waterproof, highly abrasion resistant and UV stable to allow printed images to last up to three years without the need for any form of protection. The printing technology is optimized for a wide range of low cost uncoated and high quality coated media and provides durable print longevity of up to 3 years without lamination.

The new lineup of media is designed for commercial suppliers of printing services, advertizing agencies, copy centers, graphic design agencies, and companies engaged in in-house publishing, in one word all those who aimed to produced wide format applications, but lack separate industrial sites.

Designed specifically for outdoor applications, the Xerox 8365/8390 uses mild solvent-based inks to reliably produce durable images that can stand up to the elements. The inks for the 8365/8390 are waterproof, highly abrasion resistant and UV stable to allow printed images to last up to three years without the need for any form of protection. The 8300 family can print directly onto a wide variety of low-cost, uncoated materials, such as adhesive film and banner material, at resolutions that range from 360 to 720 dpi at typical quality production speeds from 162 to 215 square feet per hour.

The variety of printing materials includes paper for CAD and geography information systems, heavy mate paper with protective cover, heavy photo paper, and special printing media. The most eye-catching are mate or enameled self-adhesive vinyl for multiple use, backlit film for constructions, lightproof film, banner vinyl, different kinds of tissues. The materials are supplied in rolls at 3” bung (76mm). Formats vary from 35 inches (914mm) to 100 inches (2500mm) in standard or economy mode.
