BenQ saw a 40% growth in its share of the 22-29-inch LCD TV market in Asia-Pacific (excluding Taiwan) in 2008, and the company will step up efforts to develop the smaller-size LCD TV market this year, according to Danny Yao, president of BenQ Taiwan.
Yao believes that the 22-29-inch and 40-inch-and-above segments of the LCD TV market will see the fastest growth in 2009, while 16:9 aspect ratio 20-inch full HD panels will become the mainstream specification for LCD monitors.
Of BenQs LCD monitor shipments, 16:9 models account for 90%, and the company will launch full HD 16:9 ratio LCD monitors at the end of March, Yao noted, adding that BenQ will focus on 18.5-, 21.5-, 23.6-, and 24-inch LCD monitors this year.
